EDUCATION
Education can change a child’s future.
We help children from families facing hardship stay in school, learn, grow and have the same opportunities as their peers. From hot meals, homework support and catch-up learning to financial assistance, school supplies, study equipment and opportunities to socialize, we provide the practical support children need to continue their education and move forward with confidence.
HEALTH & THERAPY
Health and therapy can open the way to greater independence.
We help children with disabilities access specialized therapies tailored to their individual needs, supporting their development, independence and participation in everyday life.
We also help refugees access essential healthcare services and provide support in selected medical cases, when access to care can make a real difference.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
No family should have to face a difficult time alone.
We stand alongside children and families when they need support most, providing food, hot meals, essential supplies and practical assistance. We also support refugees and communities affected by disasters.
Through our Social Workshop, we create employment opportunities for people from vulnerable groups, helping them build independence and stability.
Who we are
Heart of a Child Foundation was established in December 1996 by a small group of friends who wanted to help homeless and HIV positive children. Today, Heart of a Child serves a significant number of children, teenagers, and young adults. We offer a variety of social support services for children and their families. Our purpose is to bring together as many people and communities as possible.
Through Government Decision 451/2016, the Heart of a Child Foundation has been recognized as a public utility organization.
Our Mission
Heart of a Child helps children, parents, and their communities in difficult and at-risk situations with medical, educational, emotional, and economic support. We believe that poverty should not be a barrier to success, and that every child, including those from underprivileged backgrounds, deserve to have hope for a happy childhood and a successful future.
